Georgia Apartment Association Names New Executive Director

Julie, M. AndersonJulie M. Anderson, CAE, MBA, has been named the new Executive Director of the Georgia Apartment Association (GAA) and Vice President – Operations for the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA).

Founded in 1975, AAA is one of the largest local apartment associations in the country and an affiliate of the GAA and the National Apartment Association.

Anderson brings more than 20 years of comprehensive experience in association management, event planning, and strategic development. Tuft search consultant Daniel C. Borschke, FASAE, MA, CAE, conducted the national search.

Anderson was most recently an association director and executive director with the Etherio Group, a nationwide association and event management firm, based in Atlanta, GA.  Previously, Anderson held various positions with the American College of Rheumatology in Atlanta, GA, including serving as the Executive Director of the International League of Associations for Rheumatology, leading ILAR’s mission to advance rheumatology in developing countries.

Anderson earned her MBA from the University of Georgia and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Reporting to AAA President Jim Fowler, CAE, Anderson will handle a range of key responsibilities, including coordinating, organizing, and implementing the GAA Annual Meeting; and directing and coordinating the administration of AAA-approved programs, projects, and activities.
