The Chicago Dental Society has welcomed Heather M. Nash as the seventh executive to lead CDS and the first woman to hold the position.
Nash will lead the 14-member CDS staff and oversee management of the annual CDS Midwinter Meeting, one of the largest dental meetings in the country. She will report to the 15-member Board of Directors.
Nash most recently served as Chief Member and Event Engagement Officer for the Schaumburg-based Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), representing more than 52,000 emergency nursing professionals. She also held the position of Chief Strategy Officer for ENA and was the Vice President, Business Development & Event Strategy, for the American College of Chest Physicians.
The national search for the Executive Director of the CDS was led by Jill Christie, President, Tuft & Associates.
Nash is also a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). Early in her career, she worked among dental professionals as director of meetings for the Academy of General Dentistry.
