Executive Director, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians
Bob Moore, MA, CAE, became the Executive Director of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), Arlington Heights, IL, in November 2018.
Previously, Moore was the Chief Operating Officer of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and served as Vice President, Knowledge and Learning, at the Institute of Food Technologists.
In his first year at ACOFP, Moore worked in partnership with the Board to develop a new strategic plan and realign the staff team to help grow the organization and move it to the next level in support of members and the patients they serve. One specific strategy involved developing a new $2M capital campaign with the ACOFP foundation to help subsidize the costs and travel for residents taking board certification exams.
Says Moore: “This is of critical importance because residents recently gained the opportunity to choose from multiple, relevant board certifications. The other exams, however, do not certify residents in their practice of osteopathic medicine. Core to our mission is to preserve and expand the practice of osteopathic medicine. To eliminate any potential barriers, we are now helping cover costs of residents who come from residency programs that are not supporting them in obtaining our certification. In the first few months of launch we have secured over 25% of our goal.”
ABOUT TUFT: “I valued the candor, preparedness, and genuine support I felt from both Jill Christie and Karen Dunn Caspers. Whether I had been offered the job or not, I would have left the search experience with a very positive point of view. I really appreciated all of the time they spent with me.
“I believe working with Tuft & Associates helped me secure my current role as Executive Director. I was able to advance in a role that fit my career aspirations and personal expectations of an organization where I can make significant contributions and be equally fulfilled.”
