Jack Taylor Dean & Professor, Goldfarb School of Nursing, Barnes Jewish College
Dean and Professor Mayola Rowser, PhD, DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP, joined the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes Jewish College, St. Louis, MO, in 2019.
Before coming to Goldfarb, Dr. Rowser served for 13 years at the University of Southern Indiana, where she held a number of positions, including Director of Graduate Studies, Assistant Dean, and Director of Community Health Centers.
During her first year at Goldfarb, Dr. Rowser says that her key accomplishments include building strong relationships with students and the faculty, as well developing partnerships within the school.
She looks forward to collaborating with the nursing faculty to develop a competency-based curriculum and implementing a center for excellence in teaching and learning.
ABOUT TUFT: Dr. Rowser appreciates that Tuft Associate Jeanette Lancaster reached out to her about this career opportunity to become a dean. She also says that Lancaster and Tuft President Jill Christie were “very knowledgeable about the college and the school of nursing” so she was well-prepared for interviews and discussions. Also valuable, says Dr. Rowser, was that “Tuft always kept me informed about the status of the search process.”
