Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship, West Virginia University School of Nursing
Nursing professor and researcher Dr. Ubolrat “Diu” Piamjariyakul PhD, RN, became Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship at the West Virginia University School of Nursing in 2016.
Piamjariyakul leads all aspects of the School of Nursing’s research mission and works closely with faculty to further define the direction of research and scholarship for the School to align with the strategic research goals of WVU Health Sciences. She currently conducts her own funded research in palliative care.
Before joining the WVU School of Nursing, Piamjariyakul served as a research associate professor at the University of Kansas where her research focused on interventions and health service delivery that effectively reduce acute care hospitalizations and health inequalities among minority populations.
The mission of the WVU School of Nursing is to lead in improving health in West Virginia and the broader society through excellence in student-centered educational programs, research and scholarship, the compassionate practice of nursing and service to the public and the profession.
