Charlie Simpson is the new Senior Vice President, Marketing & Education, for The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), Chicago. He was selected after a national search led by Gail Luxenberg, Tuft search consultant.
An outstanding marketing and public relations executive, Simpson has had extensive experience in healthcare, holding senior leadership positions at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the medical school of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American Cancer Society.
Simpson began his career with agencies Porter Novelli and Burson-Marsteller.
Founded in 1964, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons is a not-for-profit organization representing more than 7,600 surgeons, researchers, and allied healthcare professionals worldwide who are dedicated to ensuring the best possible outcomes for surgeries of the heart, lungs, and esophagus, as well as other surgical procedures within the chest.
